Meet Cherita, Your Travel Guide
My love of travel began at a young age, when my family and I traveled across the United States together. Those early family trips gave me a love for discovering new places and creating memories along the way.
As I grew older, our travels expanded beyond the United States. My parents, my children, and I began traveling to the Caribbean, opening up a whole new world of beautiful beaches, tropical islands, and different cultures. Over the years, my travel experiences grew to include many coastal destinations throughout Mexico and numerous Caribbean islands.
Eventually, cruising became another part of my travel journey and gave me a whole new way to experience the destinations I already loved—and discover new ones.
I created My Cruise and Travel Life to share what I’ve learned along the way—the places I love, practical travel tips, honest cruise and destination experiences, and ideas that can help make planning your next getaway a little easier and more enjoyable.
About Cherita
My professional life has been devoted to education. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business from Pittsburg State University, a Master’s degree in Business from Oral Roberts University, and a Doctorate in Education Administration from Lindenwood University.
Throughout my career, I served as both an instructor and administrator, teaching at technical career centers, colleges, and universities. I found education to be an incredibly rewarding career. My goal was always to help students succeed and to make a positive difference in their lives, and I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to accomplish those goals.
That same desire to help others is one of the reasons I created this website. I enjoy researching, planning, organizing, and sharing what I’ve learned through my own experiences. Now I have the opportunity to use those skills in a different way—helping fellow travelers feel more informed and prepared as they plan their own adventures.
